Yiannis and Maria Kyriakou chose a dreamy setting filled with blue hydrangeas for their wedding. It was a very special occasion in the way it was decorated, supervised by Flower Creations by Avgeris. It echoed the proposal, that occured on November 2014 after a year-long relationship, that took place at the Athens marathon in which Yiannis took part..
After running for 42km with the engagement ring in his fist, he reached the finish line and kneeled in front of Maria and the rest of the audience at Kallimarmaro Stadium and proposed!
The result: On the 22nd October 2016, they got married at the picturesque chapel of St.Nicholas in Kato Paphos, a chapel that both really liked. A reception at Aliathon Hotel Village followed. The bride was wearing an elegant, mermaid-like dress by Loukia Kyriakou Couture, whereas the groom showed up in a Kristo Avraam suit.
Avgeris, from Flower Creations by Avgeris, decorated both the chapel as well as the reception venue with a white, blue and gold colour palette, following the couple’s wishes.
Beyond the unique decoration with the beautiful flower compositions and garlands and the minimal flower motifs, the guests were impressed by the bar cocktails offered at dinner, while DJ Tryfonas Anastasiades was getting everyone in a party mood. The design and printing of the invitations and all the stationary(cards etc) were made by RedGrass Invitations & Stationery. The favours were handmade by a relative of the couple. The white wedding cake with the blue hydrangeas along with the treats, were a creation of El-Dé patisserie.
