Olives, olive green and gold, a lace wedding dress … and Chios. The result? A delicate and desirable wedding loaded with emotions.
“Chios is my home and I dreamed of getting married here since I was a little girl. The reception took place at my childhood house. It was very romantic and touching to get married in the house of most of my childhood memories.’’ So when Christos (Karavias) made the surprise proposal to Mariana (Filla) on April 2, 2015 after a six-year relationship, there was no doubt whatsoever about where the wedding would take place…
Marianna was wearing an elegant wedding dress from Complice – Stalo Theodorou and Christos was wearing a Hugo Boss’s suit when they got married at the church of Panagia Mouthena in Chios on July 16, 2016.
A reception took place at the bride’s home in Chios. The most dominant feature at their wedding was the olive and the decoration was done by Comme il Faut (Chios). All the wedding flowers were bought from the Xantaris flower shop. The cake was created by the chef Stefanos Cova and the Greek treats were ordered from Sarantis Patisserie in Chios while the Cypriot loukoumia were from El-Dé in Limassol.
But what was the most unique part of the wedding? Marianna answers, “Everything. The party started from the time we were getting ready for the wedding till the next day. We were inexhaustible! We danced until 8 in the morning. The locals’ amanedes (traditional songs) got everyone on their feet, especially our Cypriot guests. I really do not know what to say! It was definitely the best party we ever attended!’’ It was a beautiful day captured by photographer Manto Vasili.
