The wedding of Amalia and Christos took place in May 2019 in Nicosia, and it was just how they dreamt it: Simplicity, with rustic elements, and in a relaxed mood, so that the couple and its guests would enjoy the wedding party, as is evident in the beautiful moments captured by Photo Studio Twins.
On the way to the church
The marriage proposal was made by Christos in March 2018, after a five-year relationship. The couple picked the church of Agios Prokopios for the wedding ceremony, at Metochi of the Holy Monastery of Kykkos. After the couple’s touching preparation with their close friends and relatives, Christos waited for his beloved at the entrance of the church, holding an impressive bouquet of fresh wildflowers. The stylish groom opted for a dark blue Zegna suit, with a black lapel and a burgundy bow tie. Soon after, the delighted bride arrived at the church too, accompanied by her parents, shining in her airy wedding dress.
Both the entrance of the church, as well as its interior, was decorated with simple flower columns with wildflowers such as chamomile, blue Clematis, Eryngium, combined with Blush Mini Roses, Pink Limonium, and Ornithogalum and Scabiosa. In charge of wedding’s planning was The Event Co. and the flowers were made in collaboration with the Sofia flower shop.

Wedding dress – Love at first sight
“I wasn’t one of those girls who daydreamed about their wedding dress, I didn’t like princess wedding dresses with a lot of fur, or narrow, glamour wedding dresses”, Amalia told us. She fell in love with her wedding dress at first sight, from just the second time she visited a bridal house. On the wedding day, Amalia, with makeup in natural tones, paired her wedding dress with Jimmy Choo sandals and large drop earrings, and completed her bridal look with a long, tulle veil that ended in a tail.
With simplicity and natural beauty
After the ceremony, the couple welcomed their guests to the Aelia Wellness Retreat. An outdoor area full of olive trees and herbs was the perfect setting for a natural rustic effect, just as the couple wanted.
Transparent vases full of fresh wildflowers, runners in beige color, and glass candlesticks with tea lights, decorated the wedding reception tables.
The newlyweds cut the naked, three-storey cake, which was decorated with fresh flowers, and moved on to0 their first dance.
Guests enjoyed the fine food from Pandora Catering and partied with the newlywed couple in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere until the early morning hours.
As wedding planers we believe it is important that a wedding reflects the personality of the couple and we think that is exactly what we achieved in the marriage of Amalia and Christos”, Lefki concludes.
Wildflowers were the stars of the show
“Planning a wedding can sometimes be stressful and difficult, but our collaboration with Amalia and Christos was very smooth and was a wonderful experience”, says Lefki from The Event Co. “The couple’s priority was for their guests to enjoy the party and celebrate with them in a relaxed atmosphere. With this in mind, the concept of marriage did not follow a specific theme, but a combination of simplicity and natural beauty, elements that exist in the landscape of Aelia Wellness Retreat”, she continues.
“Fresh wildflowers were used in the decoration, in unexpected combinations, to escape the usual settings and compositions. We included different heights, textures and colours to create this relaxed, calm and modest image.”
